Design & Fundraising Strategy
Mindfulness Project Thailand
After travelling and volunteering in different countries in southeast asia, I joined the mindfulness project in Thailand in April 2015 as a digital designer. At the beginning, I developed different videos for the project to use them for fundraising campaigns. I also supported a graphic designer to develop a brochure of the project in english, german and thai. Later, I started to develop the concept of the project together with the founder and to develop the new website and fundraising activities. Besides that, I designed labels and marketing material for our own natural products and sold them on farmer markets in Thailand.
When I joined the project, there was no concept or roadmap of the project existing. Every member had an own idea about what the project is about, but there were no goals or a common vision defined yet.
We were in need to apply for a bigger land in the north east of Thailand. To to that, we started to develop a project concept in english and thai. I’ve choosen the business model canvas to work collaboratively with the founder and the fundraising manager. We were defining our target audience aswell as our possible partners and the services we wanted to offer. We defined how to contact partners and customers and developed a business model for the learning center.

After we were aware of our business model and project concept, I developed a brochure in english and thai for our applications to land owners. We successfully applied and received a new area of land to relocate.
According to our customers and goal definitions of the business plan, I started to develop personae and a new responsive design for the website of the learning center.
defining a roadmap and a mvp
I was developing a roadmap of the digital apparatus of the project and defined a MVP for our developers. In the roadmap, I also pointed out how the charity website, blog, database, volunteering page and online channels are connected. Later, I was creating a style guide for the project to support the frontend developers.

For the website relaunch, I developed a new information architecture and wireframes for the responsive design.

For the website relaunch, we used Wordpress. I developed the new content and layout of the pages.
creating the fundraising strategy
While the development of the new website went on, I started to develop an online fundraising strategy and a social media strategy for the project.
As one of the key online fundraising features, we used betterplace.org and launched several successful campaigns in german and english.
In the new blog section, former visitors of the learning center can find updates about the project but also learning material about yoga, meditation, permaculture and natural building. In my concept, I suggested to upload more and more study material of the learning center for volunteers and course attendants and also integrate paid downloads like ebooks etc.
